Bill Bird Marina, 10800 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33154, USA
About the Event
Students grades 3rd and up are invited to be part of the Seakeepers floating classroom in Biscayne Bay. We have space for 28 spaces total. Parents are not required to attend. We hope to fill as many of these spots as possible with students. Rest assured that the boat is equipped with life vests and the captain is coast guard trained.
Students will be on a pontoon boat that will go on a short ride on Biscayne Bay to review the history of Florida's coastlines and explore water quality. They will then take part in a citizen science lab on marine debris at Pelican Island before heading back to the dock. Students can also explore the pelican rescue facility once they return.
Participants can arrive anytime between 9:30 and 10am at the marina. The boat will launch to the left (South) of the marina building.
Students should be prepared…
