The Lab is the headquarters and creative heart of Surf Skate Science, located in Oakland Park. It is where curiosity meets community, imagination meets hands-on learning, and play meets purpose.
While our mobile program transforms local skateparks and surf breaks into dynamic outdoor classrooms, The Lab is where the magic deepens:

A Pro Shop stocked with educational gear, skate & surf essentials, and unique merch

A dedicated Podcast Room and versatile All-Purpose Classroom

A Lookback Library celebrating the history of skateboarding and surfing, printed magazines, classic media, vinyl, and pinball

A Skate Training Facility for progressions and drills

A Surfboard Shaping Bay where professional shapers create custom boards and teach you how to make your own

An Outdoor Garden Lab connecting nature and science

A Maker Space for building, creating, soldering, woodworking, and more
It’s our offices but also a space for workshops, drop-ins, themed events, private celebrations, and creative collaborations — and you can rent it too!
Private Events
Park rentals start for a 2 hour event is $300

Includes skateboarding for 15, loaner gear, designated room for food, use of games, popcorn and on-site facilitator

Our in-house surfboard shaping bay is available for hourly or day-rate rental for aspiring and experienced shapers alike. Each session includes access to a fully equipped shaping room and the essential tools needed to shape a surfboard by hand in a clean, well-lit, professional environment.
Whether you’re shaping your first board or refining your craft, our space is designed to support creativity, precision, and learning.
