Job Description:
Surf Skate Science, a South Florida program that transforms skateparks and surf breaks into classrooms for hands-on STEAM education, is seeking an honest, highly self-motivated individual with a passion for surfing, skateboarding, and education. As an Administrative Helper, you will play a vital role in grant writing, strategic partnerships, marketing, and storytelling efforts. This position offers flexibility, with a maximum of 15-20 hours per week, and is based in our 501c3 non-profit organization.
Responsibilities:
- Grant Writing: Collaborate with the team to identify relevant grant opportunities that align with our mission of merging sports and education. Craft persuasive grant proposals, ensuring accurate and timely submission. Monitor grant progress, deadlines, and reporting requirements for successful implementation.
- Strategic Partnerships: Assist in identifying and establishing strategic partnerships with organizations, businesses, and individuals who share our passion for surfing, skateboarding, and education. Conduct research, outreach, and maintain ongoing communication with potential partners. Explore collaborative opportunities to enhance the impact of our programs.
- Marketing: Contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies that promote our mission and engage our target audience. Create compelling content for various marketing channels, including social media, newsletters, website, and press releases. Monitor and evaluate marketing efforts to drive continuous improvement.
- Storytelling: Harness the power of storytelling to showcase the transformative impact of Surf Skate Science programs. Surf Skate Science is looking for a mentor-minded instructor to lead our Skateparkitecture, Skate 4 Concrete, and ACE Mentorship programs—blending skate culture with real-world career skills in architecture, engineering, and construction.
This isn’t your average classroom gig. You’ll guide 6th–12th graders through a hands-on journey where skatepark design becomes the gateway to exploring the built environment, design thinking, and the trades. Students will tackle a national ACE Mentorship challenge—taking on real industry roles like architect, construction manager, or electrical engineer—and present their solutions to a panel of professionals.
