Independent Trucks was founded in 1978 in Santa Cruz, California by Fausto Vitello, Eric Swenson, Jay Shuirman, and Richard Novak. Built around the idea of strong, responsive skateboard trucks with better turning and grind performance, Independent became one of the most iconic truck brands in skateboarding. Known by skaters as “Indy,” the brand remains a top choice for street, transition, park, bowl, and all-around setups.
