About the Event
Limited to 25 participants. Must be capable of paddling a kayak on own. 3rd grade and up. Led by the Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management Department.
Students will be broken into two groups. One will be on a swamp tromp while other group is kayaking through the Cypress Hammock. Then the groups will switch. Both groups will be led by seasoned ERM staff. Parents are welcome but each person will have an individual kayak and spaces are extemely limited. So if you feel comfortable letting your student go alone, please do so that as many students as possible may experience this adventure.
There is no cost for this opportunity but we ask that you please do not RSVP unless you can attend.
Participants must wear old sneakers that can lace tightly and pants that can get muddy. They will be in mud up to knee-waist height. Long sleeves and bug spray is recommended. Bring a change of clothing (with shoes) and a trash bag to put muddy clothes in after your adventure. Bring a dry bag or zip locks inside a back pack to protect your phones, etc. while in the slough.
