Why we help develop and amplify South Florida voices

South Florida is filled with curious, innovative, brilliant, and thoughtful people with ideas that deserve to be heard.

We believe there is real impact when everyday leaders, students, creators, educators, entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers are given the opportunity to develop their ideas and share them with a larger audience.

TEDx is more than a stage. It is a chance to refine a message, grow as a communicator, and spark conversations that can inspire change in our community and beyond.

If you have ever dreamed of taking on the challenge of developing and sharing an idea on a TEDx stage, this is your chance. Our volunteer selection panel will choose 5 adult speakers and 5 student speakers to take the stage this October.

Connect with TED-Ed Clubs around the world

TED-Ed Clubs represent thousands of student groups from around the world actively pursuing and presenting their ideas. When you start a TED-Ed Club you’ll be connected to groups around the world. If you see them engaging in an activity that excites you, you are encouraged to adopt it for your own TED-Ed Club.

Students develop and present their own ideas

The TED-Ed Club meeting structure is designed to support students in taking influence from TED speakers, and ultimately developing and presenting big ideas based on their own passions. Students will also gain skills in storytelling/storyboarding, production, and creating visuals that communicate their ideas clearly. TED-Ed is committed to celebrating great student ideas by sharing student presentations and stories with the world via the award-winning web platform, ed.ted.com.

Students create

TED-Ed style animations

Another increasingly important skill set is the ability to illustrate one’s big ideas. Animation is a fantastic and fun medium for acquiring and exercising this artistic skill. TED-Ed Club members and facilitators will receive materials that support them in developing a variety of animations skills including storyboarding, character design, stop motion animation and visualizing abstract ideas.
