Hello everyone,

We’re excited to see so many students jumping into our online expanded learning!

A few quick tips so we can make sure your student gets credit for all that awesome work:

When uploading a project, please include the student’s first and last name in the box that asks what they learned. Some usernames don’t match the student’s name, and we want to make sure we know who created what!

Please wait until after your student attends class to complete the online lesson. The goal is for the online activities to expand on what they experienced with us, not get ahead of it.

And yes, completing the challenges on time means prizes from the Surf Skate Science team!

Here are the project cut-off dates:

• Week 1 | Surf: Art Letters — September 4

• Week 2 | Skate: Zines — September 11

• Week 3: Field Trip Week — No assignment

• Week 4 | Skate: Skateboard Art — September 25

• Week 5 | Surf: Recycled Art — October 2

• Week 6 | Skate: Skate Video — October 9

• Week 7 | Surf: Cyanotypes — October 16

• Week 8 | Skate: Design Challenge — October 23

• Week 9: Field Trip Week — No assignment

• Week 10 | Surf: Survey + Review — November 13

• Week 11 | Skate: Skatepark Design — November 20

• Week 12 | Surf: Coral — November 27

Think of these as the “Now What?” part of class. Students learn something with us, connect it to the real world, then take it home and make something of their own.
