About the Event
Students grades 2nd and up are invited to be part of the Seakeepers floating classroom in Biscayne Bay. We have space for 35 spaces total (with chaperones).
Join Seakeepers as they head out on a short ride on Biscayne Bay to review the history of Florida's coastlines and explore water quality. They will then take part in a citizen science lab on marine debris at Pelican Island before heading back to the dock. Students can also explore the pelican rescue facility once they return.
Participants can arrive anytime between 9:30 and 9:45 am at the marina.
Bring sun protection, lots of water, and closed-toe shoes (required)! Seakeepers will provide all of the educational materials needed for the day. If you want to eat lunch at the marina when we return around 12/12:30pm, you can bring your snacks/lunches, as well!
