About the Event
On July 22nd, Surf Skate Science is helping host the Grand Opening of the Pompano Beach Skatepark, a dream more than 15 years in the making.
This is more than a skatepark. It is a place where friendships are built, young people are encouraged, families gather, and kids learn to do hard things with courage and support. After running Ramp 48 Skatepark for more than 15 years, we know firsthand how powerful a healthy skatepark community can be for youth, young adults, and families.
As a nonprofit that teaches STEM and STEAM through skateboarding and surfing, Surf Skate Science also sees this new park as a living classroom where kids can learn physics, engineering, math, design, resilience, creativity, and community leadership.
The Grand Opening will include a 10 AM ribbon cutting, free skate lessons for youth, a professional skateboarding demo, a best trick contest, giveaways, and a youth STEM area…
