About the Event
In this series from the Everglades Foundation and Everglades Literacy, students will be introduced to the Everglades, learning about a special place in Florida home to many different plants, animals, and habitats. This presentation serves as an introduction to the Everglades ecosystem and reviews the differences between the wet and dry habitats, focusing on some of the trees and plants in each. Students will then learn about well-known animal species in the Everglades and learn the differences between American alligators and American crocodiles. Students will also discuss threats to the Everglades, including invasive species, and how they can help protect the ecosystem.
