About the Event
Step into the future of climate action with a visit to Kind Designs, a trailblazing Miami-based company using 3D printing to create eco-friendly seawalls and artificial reefs. During this field trip, you’ll meet their team of ocean enthusiasts—divers, surfers, and environmental scientists—who are transforming marine construction with cutting-edge technology.
You’ll be introduced to their advanced 3D printers, capable of creating 10x10 ft seawall panels in just one hour. Learn how these innovative structures, designed to mimic natural ecosystems, help protect coastlines, improve water quality, and create marine habitats.
Kind Designs is also leading the way in 3D-printed artificial reefs, with designs that support marine life and aid in reef restoration. This is a rare opportunity to see how technology and environmental science combine to combat climate change and protect our oceans. Don't miss it!
This is one of multiple opportunities for our current Surf Science students choose your own adventure week. Students must be currently registered in Surf Science to participate as space is minited. Please register for students only. Parents do not need to register.
