Mangrove Slog at Biscayne Nature Center (Recommended 6th and up)

This wading exploration, geared for 6th grade and up, takes place at the northernmost end of the Bear Cut Preserve, where one of the few pristine mangrove areas close to urban Miami exists. Students will fully immerse themselves by slogging through the mangrove forest.

About the Event
This wading exploration takes place at the northernmost end of the Bear Cut Preserve, where one of the few pristine mangrove areas close to urban Miami exists. Students will fully immerse themselves by slogging through the mangrove forest to learn about the importance, ecology, adaptations, and threats to these critically important habitats. They will encounter wading birds, pufferfish, stingrays, mangrove crabs, and much more! Conservation issues will also be discussed and students will be challenged to become better stewards for our environment.
