About the Event
This 14-week curriculum is designed to engage K-12 students in project-based learning focused on the future through the lenses of skateboarding and surfing. Alternating weekly between these two themes, students will explore engineering concepts, creative problem-solving, and sustainability. Each class will build on the previous ones, encouraging students to think critically about how they can shape a better future.
This syllabus provides a sample framework of the exciting and innovative projects and activities students will engage in during the "Engineering the Future 2024" program. While the outlined lessons and activities give a clear indication of what to expect, please note that they are subject to change based on the evolving needs and dynamics of the class. Our goal is to create a flexible, enriching, and responsive learning environment that adapts to the interests and progress of our students. From beach cleanups to snorkeling trips and visits to the coral lab, students will explore the ocean through hands-on experiences and real-world learning

Join us for a ranger-led Biscayne Explorer field trip where learners explore South Florida’s ecosystems through hands-on labs, jetty walks, and real-world science at the edge of the bay.
Weekly - Work on your own scheduleOnline Course - You make the scheduleWe are inviting all homeschoolers to join us this semester in being an everglades explorer. Lessons are available for grade K-8 and can be done at your own pace. Share photos of you doing the lessons to be entered each month to win a prize. We will be posting new lessons each Monday.
