About

Welcome to "Exploring the Everglades: Nature's Wonderland"! In this exciting course, we will embark on a journey through one of the most unique and vibrant ecosystems on the planet – the Everglades. Known for its stunning wading birds and diverse wildlife, the Everglades is home to many federally threatened and endangered species, including the majestic Florida panther, the powerful American crocodile, the graceful snail kite, and the elegant wood stork. This remarkable mix of salt and fresh water creates the only environment on Earth where alligators and crocodiles live side by side. Beyond its incredible biodiversity, the Everglades also provides most of the drinking water for Florida. Join us as we dive into the wonders of this incredible ecosystem and discover the vital role it plays in our world! Big thanks to Everglades Foundation and the Everglades Literacy program for providing these lessons. In person club available on Fridays in Fort Lauderdale at Colossal Academy starting in late August. Email info@surfskatescience.com for info. Also be on the lookout for field trip opportunities for students and families .
